McMinnville, Ore. – August 29, 2023 – The Springs Living’s Grow Together Scholarship Program is awarding $50,000 in scholarships for the 2023-24 school year to 75 students working in senior living. This is the seventh consecutive year that the company has awarded scholarships as part of its commitment to supporting the educational goals of employees and their families.
“The Springs Living established its scholarship program to reward the hard work and determination of employees who are actively contributing to their own professional wellness,” said Amy Brown, vice president, operational excellence of The Springs Living. “For us, continuous improvement goes beyond systems and processes. It is also represented each time a team member works on self-improvement, and it is important to us to support their effort to bring their best selves to work.”
This year, The Springs Living introduced the Linda Orr Nursing Scholarship, named in memory of a dedicated nurse who worked at The Springs at Whitefish in Montana and exemplified the values and commitment to creating quality outcomes for residents. The inaugural recipients of the Linda Orr Nursing Scholarship are Maria Brookins, a nursing student at Miles Community College in Miles City, Montana, and Trey Slates, a nursing student at Montana State-Billings. Both work on the health services team at The Springs at Grand Park in Billings, Montana.
Scholarship applications were accepted from any current employee and their immediate family members seeking to advance their education in the 2023-24 school year. The amount awarded to each recipient is determined by a combination of a written essay and years of service with the company. Scholarships are awarded to recipients to use for educational expenses, including tuition, books, and technology.
